BACK TO PLAYING VISUAL NOVELS
Finally got the time to keep playing Higurashi, and I think its starting to get into the actual interesting stuff now! It's been promising some cool content, but it just hasn't gotten anywhere interesting yet. The characters are getting weirder (something about a dismembered body? we were just talking about a colonel sanders like two textboxes earlier!) and I'm excited for what the coming chapters (parts?) have in store for me. My friend better NOT be lying when he said it was peak. I also started Danganronpa as well since me and my (non-furry) friend struck a deal where if I beat both Danganronpa 1 and 2, then he would play 1 route from Echo. Looking back on it I should've made him at the very least play one route from Echo and then play Arches considering he wants me to play an entire 20 hour visual novel, but ohhhh well. VwV
NOT EVEN SCHOOL IS FREE FROM MY AUTISM
I'm currently taking an online art class in order to fulfill a required credit for a fine arts class at my college. The class isn't that bad, I missed assignment on the first week of school, but otherwise it's been pretty smooth sailing. So a couple weeks ago, she posted an essay assignment. It was very open ended, she allowed us to pick ANY piece of art and explain what it meant to us. Only a 250 word limit too, so it was sure to be a breeze. The only problem however was I wanted to talk about Echo (because i want to reiterate that this visual novel changed my life, I could write an entire 10 page essay with citations about how influential this game has been to me), and upon reading deeper into the project rules, she wanted us to use art terms, such as line, space, balance, you know, the "school" stuff (ew). So with just talking about Echo out of the question, I had to think even harder. I wanted to do Art, Furries God, but thats a video, and I can't really use art terms in relation to a YouTube video (unfortunately). But my friend brought up something that would be CRUCIAL to the completion of my project, I could totally use the CGs that appear in Echo as opposed to the game in general. After figuring out which CG to use (if you saw the last blog post, you'll know which one), I started writing. When I tell you that wrote, I fucking wrote. I blew that word count to smithereens, got to a total of 1,000 words and submitted that with confidence. Still don't have a grade for it yet, since it was due on the 20th, but I think I nailed it.
POST-ADASTRA DEPRESSION HIT
Yeah, don't ask why I'm suddenly thinking about that game a total of 2 months after I've played it, but damn its hitting hard. Just knowing there isn't more Adastra content at the moment and without any more content coming in the forseeable future, it's got me thinking about it a lot. Just the writing in that game in general was just such a treat, and the way it wrote about existentialism just kinda hits thinking back on it (holy shit that scene(tm)!!!!! ifykyk) I need to replay it at some point, its a thing I've been thinking a lot of recently just because there's not a whole lot I remember about it past, like, basic story beats and whatnot. Obviously I haven't forgotten the whole thing, but it feels as if I've taken notes without actually understanding what's going on (which happens with a lot of things I read actually). Also listening to the OST is surprisingly emotional for me. Despite it being only royalty free songs, the way they're used in game gives so much more of an impact on me than they would otherwise. Actually such an impressive feat now that I'm thinking about it... But yeah, maybe a rereading may be in order at some point.
WINDOWS SUCKS, IN OTHER NEWS THE SKY IS BLUE
Finally got the energy to reset my Windows install since I need to install League and Valorant for use with what I'm doing at my schools E-Sports program (ew), so I did just that in the afternoon. While for as much as I hate using Windows as a day to day OS now that I've been on Linux full time for a while now, the Out of the Box experience always feels nice. At least when you aren't trying to go against the computers will to uninstall bloatware that will NOT. STOP. REINSTALLING ITSELF. Outside of that, got all my stuff installed and ready to only be touched when I absolutely have to. GOD I DONT MISS USING WINDOWS!!!
CONCLUSION
Damn, this blogging stuff takes a lot of work, but I really like writing about this stuff that I'm doing though! I know this isn't really relating to what we've just talked about but it's so relieving to finally have a place that I can just write about whatever I want and just... have it exist. Never really felt like I could do that anywhere else until now, I don't really have anyone to thank but I'm really glad I started this. In other news, I should get started on updating the CSS to account for lists n stuff since those still aren't styled (for whatever reason), and also just a general layout improvement should be in order. In fact, I'm gonna try and make a logo by the time the next blog post should be posted. I haven't worked on it yet, so goving myself a reason should probably help get the ball rolling. But as always, thanks a lot for your time! I hope you come read my next blog post.
